350 Seattle is a grassroots climate justice organization that has organized in Seattle since 2013\. Its [stated mission](https://350seattle.org/about/?ref=fypsf.com) is to work toward climate justice by organizing people to make deep systems change.

## Who it's actually for

People ready to take on a role: knocking doors, testifying, planning an action, writing to a pension board. The group describes itself as building a cross-class, multigenerational, multiracial climate movement, and much of the work is online or hybrid.

You do not need experience. A monthly potluck with an orientation is designed as the way in, and a Welcome Team takes one-on-one calls for anyone who cannot wait.

It is a weaker fit if you mainly want a relaxed social evening around climate. [Soapbox Project](https://www.fypsf.com/seattle/communities/soapbox-project/) leans that way, with dinner every Tuesday.

## What they run

Volunteer teams and campaigns, [listed on the get involved page](https://350seattle.org/get-involved/?ref=fypsf.com), include Make Polluters Pay, Climate Safe Pensions Washington, Seattle Green New Deal, the 350 WA Civic Action Team, a Policy Action Team, an Aviation Team, Anti War X Climate, Artful Activism, a book club and Coming Back to Life, a climate grief and empowerment group.

[Climate Community Night](https://350seattle.org/climate-community-night/?ref=fypsf.com) is the monthly gathering on third Thursdays: a new volunteer orientation from 6:15 to 6:45 pm, potluck from 6:30, a program and mini skills training from 7 to 7:45, then socializing until 8:30\. It is family friendly and all ages, and masks are encouraged.

## What it costs

Climate Community Night lists no admission fee; bring a dish to share if you can. Volunteering is free. Members pay dues (the site does not publish the amount) and agree to the group's points of unity and to take at least three actions a year, [per the about page](https://350seattle.org/about/?ref=fypsf.com#membership).

## Where

Climate Community Night meets at The Metropole in Pioneer Square. The office is at 600 1st Ave, Suite 200C, Seattle, WA 98104.

## How to start

Go to Climate Community Night on Thursday, November 19, and arrive at 6:15 pm for the new volunteer orientation. RSVP on the [Climate Community Night page](https://350seattle.org/climate-community-night/?ref=fypsf.com). There is no December gathering; the next after that is Thursday, January 21, 2027.
