The Washington B Corp Collective works to grow the "business as a force for good" movement across Washington by connecting, amplifying and supporting businesses that want to make a difference. It [works in partnership with B Lab](https://www.bcorpwa.com/about?ref=fypsf.com) but is independent of it, and it is fiscally sponsored by the [Good Business Network of Washington](https://www.fypsf.com/seattle/communities/good-business-network-of-washington/).

## Who it's actually for

Founders, staff and consultants at certified B Corps, companies working toward certification, and people just starting to learn what B Corp means. You do not need to be certified to take part, and the Collective's free social and volunteer events are open to the whole community.

It is a useful room for comparing notes on the certification process with people who have been through it.

It is a weaker fit if your business is a small local maker or shop focused on buying local more than certification. The [Good Business Network of Washington](https://www.fypsf.com/seattle/communities/good-business-network-of-washington/) is built around that.

## What they run

Social and networking events, volunteer days and facility tours, posted on its [Ticket Tailor events page](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/washingtonbcorpcollective?ref=fypsf.com). It also produces the Forces for Good podcast and keeps a [list of Washington B Corps](https://www.bcorpwa.com/certified-companies?ref=fypsf.com).

## What it costs

Events are often free. Community Supporter levels, [per the join page](https://www.bcorpwa.com/join?ref=fypsf.com), are $100 for individuals and $500, $2,000 or $5,000 for businesses. Supporting is not required to attend events, and certification is not required to support. The Collective may decline support from businesses without clear, public evidence of a commitment to positive impact.

## Where

Events rotate among member businesses around Seattle and the state. The Collective does not list an office.

## How to start

Join [Beyond the Bin](https://www.tickettailor.com/events/washingtonbcorpcollective/2438237?ref=fypsf.com), a behind-the-scenes tour of Ridwell's Seattle facility in SODO, on Wednesday, October 21, from 5 to 7 pm. Registration is free with a suggested $10 donation, and the street address is shared when you register. Bring clean clothing to donate or worn-out textiles to recycle if you like.
