A climate innovation hub and members' club in the Financial District, opened in April 2024 during SF Climate Week as the network's first coworking space.

Who it's actually for

Funded climate startups, climate teams inside larger companies, and people whose employer is paying. 9Zero is the most polished and the most expensive room in the Bay Area climate ecosystem, and the pricing sorts who ends up there: a floor of $215 a month buys community access, not a desk.

That makes it a strong fit if you are raising, hiring, or selling into climate, and want a members' directory and a Slack full of people in the same position. It is a weaker fit if you are a solo organizer, a nonprofit staffer paying your own way, or anyone for whom $215 a month is the deciding number. Compare it against Trellis, where mission-aligned membership runs $150 a month and the climate starter package is $99.

Also worth knowing before you sign up: the entry tier caps workspace at six days a month, weekdays between 8am and 6pm. If you want somewhere to work rather than somewhere to belong, that tier is not it.

What they run

Members-only events, a searchable member directory, and a Slack community that comes with every tier.

The venue side is arguably more useful to non-members. 9Zero rents three spaces to outside organizers: a mezzanine glass room and lounge for small breakfast meetups, a fourth-floor club space seating 75 theater-style or 100 standing, and the Living Wall space with floor-to-ceiling windows, seating 110 or 200 standing. Rentals include setup, A/V, janitorial and security, and organizers get promoted into the 9Zero community. A lot of Bay Area climate events you see listed happen in these rooms.

What it costs

Club membership is $215 a month, including members-only events, the directory, Slack, phone booths, hourly conference room booking, and workspace up to six days a month. Unlimited Desk is $525 a month and adds 24/7 access, two conference room hours, showers, lockers and a business address. Private offices start at $3,000 a month for three desks.

Don't buy a membership to find out. Go to a public event held in the building first, which costs nothing and shows you the room and the crowd. Then ask for a tour.
