Good Business Network of Washington is a Seattle nonprofit that connects and inspires people to buy, produce and invest locally. It was Seattle Good Business Network until May 2025, when it changed its name to reflect the communities it serves statewide.
Who it's actually for
Owners of independent businesses, makers and manufacturers, restaurants and the people who want to spend their money with them. Individuals can join as well as businesses, nonprofits and public agencies.
If you make things in Seattle, Seattle Made is the program to know. It has more than 600 members, per the network.
It is a weaker fit if you are mainly after B Corp certification peers. The Washington B Corp Collective, which this network fiscally sponsors, is the place for that.
What they run
Programs include Seattle Made, launched in 2015 for urban manufacturers and producers; NW Sewn, which runs Washington's first registered apprenticeship for industrial sewing machine operators; Good Food Economy, which includes Seattle Restaurant Week; Seattle Restored, which fills empty storefronts with pop-ups on no-cost leases; and circular economy work on shared space and materials. There is also a public directory of member businesses.
Events include member happy hours, workshops for makers, a Circular Textiles Speaker Series online and the Good Gala, this year on Saturday, November 7, at ArtLove Salon.
What it costs
Membership: Member is a $50 one-time application fee; Member for Good is $250 a year and includes a Seattle Metro Chamber membership for organizations of 15 or fewer employees that have not been Chamber members in the past two years; Sustaining Member starts at $1,500 a year; Institutional Member at $2,500; Impact Partner at $10,000. Individuals join at the Member level, without a directory listing. Members get discounted event tickets and free in-person networking.
Seattle Restaurant Week, Sunday, October 18, through Saturday, October 31, offers set menus at $20, $35, $50 and $65.
Where
Events rotate around Seattle at member businesses. The organization's registered address is 4786 1st Ave S, Suite A9, Seattle, WA 98134.
How to start
Go to the member and prospective member happy hour on Thursday, October 22, at the Macadons production facility, 2724 6th Ave S, Suite 203, in SODO. Registration lists 5 to 7:30 pm. It is free, with an optional donation to the network's Resiliency Fund, and it is the place to hear how Seattle Made, NW Sewn and membership work and what is planned for 2027.
