The Washington B Corp Collective works to grow the "business as a force for good" movement across Washington by connecting, amplifying and supporting businesses that want to make a difference. It works in partnership with B Lab but is independent of it, and it is fiscally sponsored by the Good Business Network of Washington.
Who it's actually for
Founders, staff and consultants at certified B Corps, companies working toward certification, and people just starting to learn what B Corp means. You do not need to be certified to take part, and the Collective's free social and volunteer events are open to the whole community.
It is a useful room for comparing notes on the certification process with people who have been through it.
It is a weaker fit if your business is a small local maker or shop focused on buying local more than certification. The Good Business Network of Washington is built around that.
What they run
Social and networking events, volunteer days and facility tours, posted on its Ticket Tailor events page. It also produces the Forces for Good podcast and keeps a list of Washington B Corps.
What it costs
Events are often free. Community Supporter levels, per the join page, are $100 for individuals and $500, $2,000 or $5,000 for businesses. Supporting is not required to attend events, and certification is not required to support. The Collective may decline support from businesses without clear, public evidence of a commitment to positive impact.
Where
Events rotate among member businesses around Seattle and the state. The Collective does not list an office.
How to start
